Anrich Nortje first appeared in the IPL in the 2019 Auction. Kolkata Knight Riders picked him for 20 lakhs. He was ruled out of the tournament after he sustained a shoulder injury.

For the 2020 edition of the IPL, Delhi Capitals roped him in the team to replace Chris Woakes, who pulled out of the tournament. He played 16 games in the 2020 season and picked 22 wickets at an average of 23.27. He bowled the fastest ball in IPL 2020.

On 14th October 2020, Delhi Capitals played against Rajasthan Royals. Nortje clocked 156.22 km/h in the game, which is the fastest ball in IPL. Nortje also bowled with a speed of 155.21 km/h and 154.74 km/h in the season. Both of these balls are the second and the third-fastest ball in IPL.

Nortje features in this list two more times. In the 2020 edition only, he bowled with a speed of 154.21, which is the sixth-fastest ball in IPL. He also bowled with a pace of 153.72, which is the ninth fastest ball in IPL. In 2021, Nortje missed the first few games due to him being Covid-19 positive. Dale Steyn

Dale Steyn is another South African fast bowler on this list. He was regarded as one of the most dangerous bowlers in the world. Steyn has played four teams in IPL. He started his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008. He stayed with the team for three years. In 2011, he was picked by Deccan Chargers. After Deccan Chargers were dismissed from IPL in 2013, he was selected by Sunrisers Hyderabad and played for them till the 2015 edition of the league. Gujarat Lions picked Steyn in the 2016 auction. In 2019, Royal Challengers Bangalore drafted Dale Steyn to the setup to replace injured Nathan Coulter-Nile. Steyn remained in RCB till 2020 before being released. Steyn enjoyed most of the success while playing for Deccan Chargers. In 2012, Steyn bowled with a speed of 154.40, which was the fastest ball in IPL for an extended period.

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada features in this list of the top 10 fastest balls in IPL twice. Rabada has been a part of the Delhi Capitals squad since 2017. He has bowled the fifth and the seventh fastest ball in IPL.

In 2019, Rabada bowled four of the top five fastest delivery. Two of his deliveries in the season features in the all-time list of the fastest ball in IPL. He bowled with a speed of 154.23 km/h, the fifth-fastest delivery in IPL. His bowling speed of 153.91 is the seventh on this list.

Lockie Ferguson

Lockie Ferguson played for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017 and has been a part of Kolkata Knight Riders since 2018. In the 2020 edition of the league, he played in five games and picked six wickets, including a hattrick against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also bowled with 153.84 km/h, which is the ninth fastest delivery in IPL history.

Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer is the part of the Rajasthan Royals’ squad since 2018. Rajasthan Royals picked him for a price of INR 7.2 crores. In 2020, Archer bowled some of the fastest balls in the tournament. He bowled four of the top ten fastest balls in that season. One of his delivery, which clocked 153.62 km/h, features on this list of top 10 fastest balls in IPL history.

In three years with Rajasthan Royals, he has made 195 runs with a strike rate of 157.25 and has picked 46 wickets at an average of 21.32.
